The Practical Nursing (LPN) program at Franklin County Career and Technology Center is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in the healthcare field. This comprehensive program typically lasts about one year (full-time) and combines classroom instruction with extensive clinical experiences. Students learn essential nursing skills, including medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring, and patient education. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, and pediatrics. Through hands-on training in modern nursing labs and clinical rotations at local healthcare facilities, students gain the confidence and competence needed to provide quality patient care. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the NCLEX-PN examination for licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Upon successful completion of the NCLEX-PN, graduates can find employment in various healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and home health agencies, providing essential nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.
