The LPN program at Western Technology Center provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become licensed practical nurses and provide essential care to patients in a variety of healthcare settings. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including basic nursing skills, pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, pediatric nursing, and mental health nursing. Through classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory practice in a state-of-the-art simulation lab, and clinical rotations at area hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and other healthcare facilities, students gain valuable real-world experience under the supervision of experienced nursing professionals. The program prepares students for the NCLEX-PN examination, the national licensure exam for practical nurses. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the NCLEX-PN, graduates are eligible to work as licensed practical nurses in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, and other healthcare settings. Career services support is generally provided to assist graduates with job placement, resume writing, and interview skills, enhancing their prospects for a successful career in nursing.
