The LPN program at Donnelly College prepares students to become compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). The curriculum covers a broad range of essential nursing concepts, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-newborn nursing, and pediatric nursing. A strong emphasis is placed on hands-on clinical experience, with rotations in various healthcare settings allowing students to provide direct patient care under the supervision of experienced nurses and healthcare professionals. Students learn to administer medications, monitor patient vital signs, assist with medical procedures, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. The program also emphasizes critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills, which are essential for success in the nursing profession. Typically, such programs take 12-18 months to complete. Upon graduation and successful completion of the NCLEX-PN exam, graduates are eligible to work as LPNs in hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings. The program also prepares students for potential career advancement opportunities, such as pursuing further education to become a Registered Nurse (RN).
