High Desert Medical College’s Vocational Nursing program is a comprehensive diploma program designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive as Licensed Vocational Nurses. This 56-week program combines rigorous classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experience in clinical labs and real-world externships. Students will learn how to provide basic nursing care, administer medications, document patient information, and perform therapeutic and rehabilitative measures. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics including fundamentals of nursing, medical-surgical nursing, mental health, and maternal-child health. Upon graduation, students receive a Vocational Nursing diploma and are prepared to sit for the NCLEX/PN exam. Furthermore, the program’s tuition covers the costs of the NCLEX/PN exam, the BVNPT application, and LVN IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal certification. Students also have the option to pursue an Associate of Applied Science degree by completing additional general education courses, expanding their career opportunities.
