The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Pacific College is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and clinical judgment necessary to provide competent and compassionate nursing care. This comprehensive program typically spans 12-18 months and combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical experience. Students learn essential nursing skills such as taking vital signs, administering medications, wound care, and assisting patients with activities of daily living. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, maternal-child health, and mental health nursing. Clinical rotations in diverse healthcare settings provide students with real-world experience and the opportunity to apply their knowledge under the supervision of experienced nurses. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN examination and, upon passing, become licensed practical nurses. LPNs work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and home healthcare agencies, providing direct patient care and working as part of a healthcare team. Pacific College’s LPN program strives to provide a supportive learning environment and prepare graduates for successful careers in the nursing profession.
