Shelton State Community College offers a unique pathway for Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students to transition into the Practical Nursing (PN) program. This transfer option allows students who have successfully completed the first two semesters of the ADN curriculum to apply for admission to the third semester of the PN program. Successful applicants will be admitted based on available space and must meet specific requirements, including maintaining a minimum GPA and providing necessary clinical and health records. The last successful clinical nursing course must be recent, and admission ranking prioritizes cumulative GPA. Students with prior attempts in the RN program have limitations on PN program attempts. This program provides a valuable opportunity for aspiring nurses to acquire LPN licensure, and opens the door to potential advancement through the LPN to RN Mobility Option upon successful completion.
