North Country Community College offers a Practical Nursing (LPN) Certificate program as a stepping stone to the AAS Nursing (RN) program. Admission is competitive, requiring a formal application submitted by the preferred deadline of December 1st for the following Fall semester. Prospective students must demonstrate academic preparedness through specific NYS Regents coursework, including Biology, English, and Math, with minimum passing scores. Transfer students are welcome, with a maximum of 17 credits eligible for transfer and a required letter of good standing from their previous nursing program if applicable. Successful completion of the LPN program and licensure in New York State are prerequisites for entry into the AAS Nursing (RN) program, even for NCCC graduates.
