City College of San Francisco’s Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program offers a comprehensive pathway to a rewarding healthcare career. This full-time, 18-month program is designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge necessary to excel as Licensed Vocational Nurses. The curriculum encompasses classroom instruction, hands-on skills labs, and valuable hospital experience, totaling approximately 30 hours per week. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates earn a Vocational Nursing Certificate, along with 40.5 college credits. The program’s accreditation by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians ensures adherence to rigorous standards, preparing students to confidently take the state licensure examination. Graduates are well-prepared for diverse employment opportunities in acute care facilities, clinics, long-term care settings, physician offices, and home health agencies, making a significant impact in their communities.
